Spray Tan Care
Proper tan care is essential for even, long-lasting color and gradual fading.
Spray Tan PRep
- Shave and take care of any other hair removal at least 12 hours before your appointment.
If you have dry skin, make sure to moisturize the day before because you will not be able to apply any lotion on the day of your appointment.
- The day of (for best results) shower and exfoliate. Remove all other self-tanners, make-up, perfume, deodorant and oils.
You will want to have any manicures and/or pedicures done prior to your appointment.
During your Spray Tan
I will arrive at your location. I will setup my equipment in a well-lit, well-ventilated and non-carpeted room. My tent is approximately the size of a shower stall. You will undress to your comfort level. I will spray a light mist of solution, with my spray gun, all over your skin. You will wait a few moments before dressing.
Spray Tan Maintenance
You should rinse off anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours. I will direct you during your appointment when you should rinse off.
Please note that I suggest JUST rinsing off. Do not use any soaps, loofas, or washcloths. Your tan is still processing, using soaps may disrupt this process. Then you will want to pat your skin dry. No rubbing or scrubbing with the towel.
Please do not apply any make-up, moisturizer, and no activities that will cause you to sweat until after your first shower. Again, using any lotions, may disrupt the tanning process.
When you shower avoid bar soaps, exfoliants and oil-based products. After your first shower use water based moisturizers. Keeping your skin moisturized will mean longer lasting results and more natural, even fading. We sell body wash and lotions specifically designed for sunless tanning. Please inquire about purchasing.
Keep in mind that chlorine and salt water can dry the skin out, causing your tan to fade faster.
Last, but certainly not lease, spray tanning solution does not contain any SPF. You will need to apply sunscreen if you plan on being in the sun for extended periods of time.
